As much as I would have loved to used my two free weekend nights for a stay in Asia or the South Pacific, the amount of travel it takes to get to those locations was a huge deterrent to that plan. Europe seemed like a much more feasible destination. Thank you to all the readers who commented with their reviews, suggestions, and opinions on where I should stay!
The Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria is a Category 9 hotel, and the King Deluxe room that I am staying at (for free) is going for $557/night the weekend that I am staying there, or 80,000 HHonors points. I could never have afforded spending $1,100+ on a hotel for the weekend, so the free weekend nights have put an otherwise unattainable luxury within my reach.

Last month we stayed in Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge. Maybe it was not such a fancy place, though, we liked free breakfast and quite a walking distance to the city centre. We read before that Cavalieri is rather far with no bus or tramway service available so you may end up paying for taxi rides ?
Complete reconstruction of the hamate bone has been reported in the literature mostly following cancer excision or avascular necrosis. For the exiguity of the tissue deficit, bone grafting has usually been used as treatment option for its rapidity and easiness to perform, even if a variable amount of bone resorption may occur. In traumatic cases, microbial contamination may jeopardize the success of a well performed bone graft and vascularised bone grafts may represent a better reconstructive option. Here we describe the first case reported in the literature of a patient underwent complete hamate reconstruction following trauma with an osseous medial femoral condyle free flap as vascularized arthrodesis between the capitate and the 4th MTC base, in order to stabilize the 4th and 5th finger and the ulnar carpo-metacarpal joint.
To improve experimental conditions at existing facilities and enable future development of seeded FELs, we have implemented a synchronization system at FLASH, the free-electron laser in Hamburg, which is based on pulsed optical signals rather than electronic RF signals31,32. Although the individual elements of this system have been demonstrated in the past, our work further refines these techniques and combines them in a user FEL facility.
The measurement principle of an optical cross-correlator31,40 is shown in Fig. 3a. In the first stage, two pulses with arbitrary temporal overlap are mixed by sum-frequency generation in a nonlinear crystal. The strength of the mixed signal depends on the precise temporal overlap. To determine which pulse arrives first and to balance the cross-correlator, a second stage is used in which one pulse is delayed with respect to the other by a fixed amount. The rearranged pulses are mixed again, to generate another sum-frequency signal. By combining the two signals, the absolute delay between the pulses can be determined independently of intensity fluctuations, providing ideal feedback for locking the laser to the reference (see Methods for more details).
Finally, the measurements of the electron bunch arrival time and the compression are combined in the feedback controller, and used to calculate the corrections for amplitude and phase, as the two degrees of freedom of the accelerating fields.

The Knights Helping Knights Pantry began from a class project in a first-year LEAD Scholars course in 2009. UCF students wanted to create a food pantry where fellow students would have access to free necessities if they fell on hard times. This grassroots initiative strived to ensure that UCF students would not have to choose between buying textbooks or buying groceries. Since its inception, the Knights Helping Knights Pantry has expanded from a closet at the Student Union to its own suite located in Ferrell Commons attached to the All Knight Study facility. Currently, the Knights Helping Knights Pantry is supported by the Student Union and funded by the Student Government Association and generous community donors.
The Pantry would not be able to keep our doors open without the help of student volunteers. Here at the Knights Pantry we are so lucky to have a team of dedicated students who donate their time to help process donations, assist students, and facilitate our day-to-day operations. If you are interested in getting more involved as a volunteer, volunteer applications open the month prior to the start of the semester and then submit an online volunteer application. Please check our Instagram for any updates on Volunteer Applications.
